A number of fakes doing the rounds online, including one a few days ago where he surrenders, which turned out to be fake. Are you sure this is not fake?

It’s possible, but it’s not really a wrong point either way. Crimea has essentially integrated itself with Russia, don’t see how Ukraine would take that back

That ignores the main point Aslund was making — that Ukraine needs to be able to strike at targets in Belarus or Russia (I've argued BEL but not necessarily RUS) to remove Russian troops from ANY part of Ukraine. That calls for serious discussion not cheap shots 1/

WWII Germany was not forced completely from Allied territories until after the German surrender. "Fortress Norway" was bypassed as too hard to take. Crimea is also very hard to take - no point in pretending otherwise.
