"Americans care more about the price of gas than Ukraine" is not something I have any difficulty believing.

It would probably be better to focus on specific instances of inflation (rising rents or gas prices), because when you focus on “inflation” it becomes a specter that allows (for instance) Joe Manchin to say “we need to fight inflation” while also arguing for higher gas prices
-
IMHO, It would be better to present inflation as just one aspect of an otherwise extraordinary economic recovery -- and that some inflation is an unfortunate, but inevitable, byproduct of such a quick recovery. And then make the point about greed...

I am going to get hate for saying this. But normal people and perhaps voters care more about inflation in food and gas (things the fed has little control over with interest rates and building capital intensive factories) than other forms of inflation Why is this important? 1/2
-
When inflation is high but food and gas are not up it is a media created phenomenon if my idea / thesis is correct. But if food and gas inflation is high, people will be complaining **even without the media**, and there is no easy solution with the fed. 2/2

I don't think the poll says what he says it says. Americans left and right hand gripes about "cost of living" and "jobs and the economy," but they don't agree at all about "inflation."
