Oh, that would make total sense of what I know of those books. I remember my dad reading them, and being weirded out as a kid by the covers. The only Farmer I’ve read is his strange book on Doc Savage.
Yeah, I wouldn't necessarily recommend those books as literature (Farmer's prose was a bit too meat-and-potato pulp) but they are interesting as example of putting real people into fantastic situation (something that subsequently became more popular).
