Yeah but do they really want an actual war and not just continue to do alot of corruption ? Like the Russian military supposedly was overhauled and modernized and it sure as shit doesn't look like that happened very much. Guess it was just reported ,money pocketed and never done

There was a UofT political scientist who had a great thread on how Putin had insulated himself against a palace coup by surrounding himself with politically neutered oligarchs & hard right strong men who owe everything to their person bond with Putin.

It will be difficult to dislodge either Putin or this junta. However, if life becomes unpleasant and repressive enough for the average Russian, their hold on power may become more precarious. This is not North Korea, where the people are inured to total deprivation.
