Yeah, but it doesn't matter one way or the other. As Chomsky said during Iraq war, even if Saddam did have wmds it would be wrong to invade. Same here.
That’s not my point. My point is that the US Embassy and Snopes are not conclusive sources. Invading other countries is bad, yes.
Agree we shouldn't believe anything just on their say so. But worth underscoring that as with Iraq, WMDs are a distraction
It would obviously make a difference to how the war is perceived, and to whether Russian claims of feeling threatened by western encroachment have merit, even if the the question of the war’s legality is unaffected.
Cheney and Rumsfeld would claim they felt threatened by Iraqi WMDs. Claims by great powers that they are threatened should be treated skeptically when used to justify war.
