I should add the proviso that this is assuming the estimate is accurate & it's very difficult to know facts of war as it progresses. That's true of any story. But if the estimate is accurate, Russian losses are immense.

There are a range of estimates out there going from 1,000 to 11,000 (Russia, I believe, isn't revealing numbers). Even the lowest estimate indicates a large war by recent standards.
