Me too. Blocked for asking him if he was going to include a chapter about Emily Ratajkowski destroying him in his next book.

This is their mindset. Playing the victim is just a tool they use to help them punish their enemies. The actual issue at hand is basically irrelevant.

Saying disagreeing with an op-ed "undermines the paper's editorial judgement" is especially rich coming from someone who would scream if the NYT only published opinion pieces their staff writers agreed with, even though that's *actually* what conservative outlets do.

The only obnoxious bit is watching two highly-paid “thought leaders” (and I use that term very very loosely) team up to try to strawman the Op-Ed author like that. It really ends up just validating her complaint.

What's the strawman that Bouie sets up? He's lamenting the tediousness of 'debate' culture. For that matter, what's the strawman that Hannah-Jones is using? The explicit example from the Op-Ed?

Right, like both the underlying argument about self-censorship seems to be undercut by submitting the op-Ed, but TCW is making text the subtext that the actual demand isn’t “free speech,” it is “speech free from criticism”
