"Some have speculated that Eisenhower's goal isn't to contain communism - that's the pretext - but rather to give Reds breathing space to grow & conquer world. No proof, but US actions in WWII, Yalta, China, Hungary consistent with that." -- John Birch Society, circa 1958.https://twitter.com/ggreenwald/status/1500196362209615875 …

Sandy M Retweeted Glenn Greenwald
GG's response to Jeet, et al:https://twitter.com/ggreenwald/status/1500483948828413959?s=20&t=wS_2ZffouJnWw3tVb5y--Q …
Sandy M added,
Glenn GreenwaldVerified account @ggreenwaldReplying to @FeelsLlcYou got deceived by dishonest journalists taking one tweet out of context to make it appear as if I presented no evidence. I've been citing prominent people saying this for weeks, and that thread includes ample evidence: the opposite of what you believe: https://twitter.com/ggreenwald/status/1500195950136020993 …1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -
I considered tweeting that to Jeet yesterday, but I think he already knew that and tweeted his bad faith garbage anyway.

The "evidence" he presented (i.e. Clinton shooting off her mouth) is not real evidence. And that one tweet laying bare his analysis shows how illogical it is (since it assumes Putin is a total patsy).

That you dislike his evidence or find it inadequate does not mean, as your ridiculing tweet conveyed, that Greenwald provided none. You were dishonest.

The thread advanced a ridiculous theory, thinly sourced. I think the JBS analogy holds. JBS also provided "evidence"

look, Jeet, I have disagreed with GG a great deal in the past year, but he's back in his wheelhouse on war and peace issues and especially vis-a-vis the media. It's where his voice is strongest. Your JBS analogy was and is stupid and inapplicable.

The JBS often took superficial evidence to make claims of outlandish conspiracies (Ike was a commie); GG is taking superficial evidence to claim outlandish conspiracy (that the NATO countries want to turn Ukraine into Afghanistan). The analogy holds.

Greenwald's observation of what some are speculating is not "outlandish"; it's wholly plausible, in contrast to JBS nonsense. The U.S./West are fully capable of such policies (not a "conspiracy"). Trying to tar him with the fucking JBS is low and absurd.

As I wrote, let's stipulate arguendo GG's theory is true. Doesn't Putin have a responsibility to stop this foul policy by withdrawing from Ukraine? Does Putin have no agency? Are the anti-war protesters in Russia fools and puppets of the west?
