Appreciate that nuclear experts and active watchers are speaking out and echoing that the nuclear reactors at Zaporizhzhia are NOT likely to explode in the way Chernobyl did - it will be bad, but a different bad.

      2. One big takeway is even if the worst Chernobyl-like nightmare doesn't happen, this is very bad because of intent. The goal here is to knock out Ukrainian power & emergency power. That in itself is a war crime.

So like, I mean this in good faith, but how is targeting electricity generation a war crime? I understand that targeting a nuclear reactor or a hydroelectric dam is a war crime though

But they didnt attack it? They wanted to capture it but there were soldiers in the area and a fight ensued? If they wanted to destroy the plant they wouldve blown it up with a missile strike long ago.

That doesn't say attacking electrical generation is a war crime, it says attacking sites that could release dangers like flooding or radiation is a war crime. It would be a crime to attack a dyke (no electric gen) and not a crime to attack a gas turbine electric plant.
