It's bracing to see that it's not obvious to everyone that a "no fly zone" is an act of war.

I keep being taken aback by *how many people*, including many who were alive during the Cold War, seem to not understand that you can't just start a conventional war with a superpower with a very large nuclear arsenal and expect it to not escalate further.

Hopefully, sufficient for now. Incrementalism remains a valuable process to build consensus and spur action amongst willing, but unequally committed/concerned/threatened parties and also a path to unforced over-engagement.

Yeah the fly zone is a really bad idea, although planning for Putin to use strategic nukes in Ukraine not so much.
