spielberg does it in "close enounters" with duck dodgers. haven't seen "minority report" in a long time, but i remember it as heavily influenced by "the conversation."pic.twitter.com/G0B0eLK7Y5
both hackman and dreyfuss' characters are going pretty crazy at these points in their respective movies, and the cartoon characters on tv underscore that thematically pretty well. fred paces in suspense and duck dodgers is, well, kinda obvious to "close encounters."
btw, how did roy and ronnie neary win give golden globe awards?pic.twitter.com/yC1350m509
i forget that one. what's the cartoon? i hope it's hong kong phooey with scatman crothers and @kathygori
Many references.pic.twitter.com/T2XQSUWBXr
never saw that list before. any chance he used daffy duck's "the scarlet pumpernickel" in "barry lyndon?"pic.twitter.com/GJQJ0I2uic
No but there's a Mickey Mouse club ending to Full Metal Jacket.
he references mickey mouse twice in "fmj." r. lee ermey shouts "what is this mickey mouse shit?" just before leonard shoots him. then they sing the tv theme song at the end. it's obviously linked, but i never got specifically what he was going for.
