Idk about that - the media isn't really broadly promoting the US taking a "major role" in conflict. Feel like that language kind of implies something more *hands on* like military action to the average person. Idk if that position is getting a ton of play.

yeah, but CBS polled a more neutral question and got 53% stay out and 4% support Russia. If you support intervention, that's a legitimate position, but it's fair to say the American public doesn't favor US involvement.
