Lee wasn't paid by the word but he needed to write a lot of words to justify his employment. After all, if the artist was providing plot & notes, how does Lee justify getting 100% of the writer's fee?

Interesting, because I wasn't defending a corporate policy here, and I generally don't. At most, I just try to explicate them. Being able to explicate something without polemicizing doesn't mean agreeing with it. But pandering demagogues like yourself do find that inconvenient.
