When the Boris Johnson story initially broke the labour party line was "it's one rule for them, another for us" and used a picture of the queen (as one of the us apparently ) to illustrate it

To be fair the Queen indubitably earns the State more than she costs us. That said, this is abhorrent.

Actually very dubitable, given that it rests on the assumption that revenues collected by the government from crown estates are rightfully the Queen’s, and that, contrary to what e.g Versailles indicates, tourists are primarily interested in the people living in palaces.
