2. Vehicular identity politics makes sense since cars/boats/trucks are property that people also come to identify with and sometimes resent restrictions on: I Can't Drive 55, etc.

3. Truckers are especially useful for the right because of its ambiguous class identity: truckers can be both small business owners (if they own their rig) and working class (if employees). A truckers movement can allow a conflation of the 2 which is useful to the right.

4. There's been a fair bit of history of right-wing movements using or co-opting truckers protest (most notoriously in Chile under Allende). Many of these have flopped (2013 anti-Obama convoy got 30 trucks). The current Canadian one is bigger than most (although still not large)
