A huge part of Mormonism is serving missions and the missionaries needed to be vaccinated to go into most countries and do business as normal there. Church leadership pushing for missionaries to get vaxxed likely upped the rate among their entire families as a result.

Same as the mormons. It's a political issue not a theological one. Vaccine sceptecism is high both in African-American and African immigrant communities. Bunch of reasons, some historical, some contemporary.
