Exactly. Just because they are overlapping circles does not mean it can't be both denialism and prudishness. The two concepts are not mutually exclusive.

I think the “shows” is at least somewhat ambiguous—these are not people comfortable with graphic novels as a form of legit literature in general. No interest in defending these chuds, but I’m not totally convinced a written account would trigger them in the same way.

apparently theyve already tried to ban this book in this way, failed, but due to recent framing of the issue of 'CRT'(?) being taught in schools, every objection has to be fielded from square one. 'is this too violent for children?' 'do we want to show our kids ~nudity~?'
