the only problem with that point is that by the 30s many streetfighters were too young to have fought in the war but yeah in general war and politics do not have the same organizational needs

Well, thank God we haven’t been in involved in multiple wars of occupation for the past two decades or anything like that.

I think this is another place where the difference is of degree not kind: there were lots of vets at 1/6, and many, many more in the militia movement.

The thing that I think ppl miss is that the hard turn to organized violence comes when you can't get your way through the normal electoral process. When you have to destabilize your way to power. There is every reason to believe that Rs will do very well in 22 and perhaps 24.
