It is time to retire "slippery slope" as a logical fallacy when talking about public policy. We can just assume from prior knowledge slippery slope is the default across the board, and it should be the burden in an argument to demonstrate something is *not* a slippery slope.

Disagree 100%. The reason "slippery slope" is a fallacy is because you can put ANYTHING on there. "Oh, I'm not allowed to drive my car on crowded sidewalks? What's next, NAZIISM?" Making up a potential future bad law should not be an excuse to not have any laws.
