A lot of what Glenn Greenwald says baffles me. But saying that Oliver Stone was "pilloried and destroyed" for making JFK is so disconnected from reality that it seems like some complicated inside joke that only Greenwald understands.

JFK got great reviews - because it's an incredibly well-made movie. Roger Ebert gave it 4 stars. Everyone I knew at the time went to see it. He was criticized for making Jim Garrison a hero, but the idea that his career was "destroyed" - or even hindered - is absurd.

Directors don't normally get destroyed for making movies that are super profitable, widely praised by reviewers, and get lots of Oscar nominations (and a few wins). That's true.

This particular GG take makes me wonder if there's literally something wrong with his brain.

He has lawyer brain. It's an environmental rather than biological thing.
