yeah i mean that's kind of my point. you can cherry pick quotes from the founders saying slavery is bad (often framed as it being morally degrading to white people) and musing that someday it will go away but that doesn't make them abolitionists

Still need to see slavery as more than cotton picking or replaceable by technology. How much of the South's labor force was not paid and was owned by people? Obv. not a question that could be asked of today's labor force. It is tough to conceive, like company towns/ feudalism
