I don’t know which category of people you think are in denial, nor do you realize how bad it’s been for 25 years. Jeez… Does every male commentator just decide what to say on these things with no understanding of the realities of decades ?

Thank you! We’ve been called hysterical and shrill and that we were overreacting. Now it’s, you little ladies just can’t comprehend how bad things are going to get. Women are just too simple and emotional to understand what forced birth by our government means.

We were called hysterical about abortion rights. We were called hysterical about threats to democracy. We were called hysterical about CRT attacks. The "Very Smart People" who get everything wrong every time always have some new thing they want to tell you they know better.

The liberals I was thinking about were not ones in the trenches who have been fighting this for years but the strategists and pundits who argue overturning Roe will benefit Dems, demobilize anti-choice people, etc.

I mean... I respect Jeet, but this is exactly the kind of shit I am talking about from male journalists.

This is a different but equally tragic example.

The fixation on Brie while ignoring stuff like this doesn't speak well for liberalism.https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/11/hillary-clinton-2016-donald-trump-214428/ …

They elevated their most beatable potential opponent and that’s bad somehow? In retrospect maybe Ted Cruz would have been a worse candidate in 2016, but Jeb or Marco would have beaten her by way more than Trump.

They elevated the candidate who they thought was most beatable, he was a dangerous authoritarian and racist and they lost to him. That's not great.

No, it’s not. But it’s what a campaign/party should do. It’s also ridiculous to think that Clinton/Dems wanting to face Trump had anything to do with him winning the GOP nomination. Trump was the nominee because Republican voters liked him and liked how racist he was/is.

It’s almost the same as people who think Susan Sarandon or a random Bernie staffer caused Hillary to lose.
