two things that are notable about the "wokism" genealogies on the right: one, they don't situate it in any kind of social or historical context, it's just "a guy made a bad idea happen" and two, they pretty much never credit it to a black person

I think it’s because it genuine seems less racist to blame this phenomenon (which they regard as a terrible thing) on white people. It’s a similar dynamic to social conservatives blaming the Sexual Revolution/abortion rights movements on men trying to take advantage of women.

True but the general engagement with most other actual living Black writers is minimal compared to all the stuff about (((cultural Marxism))) and (((Frankfurt School)))) & genealogies that trace CRT back to German thinkers.
