Yeah but most Dems are too educated and less aggro so they don't fall for stuff as easily. But serious message discipline is needed on popular policies like expanding medicare and paid leave etc except, oh wait, the oligarchs in charge won't allow it.

Democrats aren't a monolith. Republicans are either right-wing or extreme right-wing. Republicans would vote for a carcass if it ran as a Republican, while Democrats will stay home if the Candidate isn't inspiring. This is why messaging alone won't work.
