Worth noting that anti-CRT candidates are doing poorly in some school board elections (i.e. where issue is most salient). Which suggests that other facts with regard to schooling (i.e. covid disruption) were bigger factor. https://twitter.com/skeatings/status/1455728072670523398 …

fwiw I find the COVID disruption theory also sort of dubious. Schools across the state have been open since March (most voters can’t remember what happened two weeks ago) and the polling from around that time was firmly anti-faster-openinghttps://twitter.com/SababaUSA/status/1455650526763393024?s=20 …

Worth noting that mequon-thiensville is among the very richest school districts in WI. Is there a split in how these boe elex around the country went based on economic class or education level of the voters? Also 40% in favor of recall isn’t great.

You would not BELIEVE how fast the local PTA moms organized in my town when a crank showed up with lots of outside $$ to run an anti-CRT slate for the school board. I've been involved in local politics for 20 years, & I've never seen anything like it. The moms were pissed.

One thing we heard a lot of from parents who were more to the middle or right side of the political spectrum was, "If our schools teach this backwards nonsense (i.e. anti-CRT talking points), our kids aren't competitive for top colleges."

Mequon is an upscale, outer suburb of Milwaukee. They have good schools and they don't want to f**k them up, because those schools drive home prices, and they want their kids to actually learn something. I also wonder, were they trying to unseat Republicans?

Probably one of the most interesting stories of the night in Ohio (!) where MANY right-wing cranks got their assets kicked - badly - in school board elections.
