Amazing how old contrarian language is. Came across a 1935 Wyndham Lewis article complaining about the "repressive 'left-wing' orthodoxy" in British culture (by which Lewis mean people critical of his view that Hitler was peace-loving gent that England should ally itself with)

Diving into Wyndham Lewis' work again, by the way, convinces me that we need a more deeply rooted history of post-leftism & paleo-conservatism. A lot of those tendencies already evident in 1930s "revolutionary conservatives" (a now largely forgotten formation)
