      1. Some in CIA want to go all out to punish Russia for using microwave weapons to harm US spies & diplomats causing Havana Syndrome. My suggestions: we find out first a) is it Russia? b) does weapon exist? c) does Havana Syndrome exist?https://twitter.com/KenDilanianNBC/status/1452710111827353606 …

Former CIA officers urge response to what they believe are Russian microwave attacks known as Havana Syndrome: “Enlist U.S. allies, expand forward deterrence, limit the adversary’s reach, choke off money, and bring those accountable to justice.” https://www.thecipherbrief.com/havana-syndrome

      2. Given how conjectural "Havana Syndrome" caused by microwave weapon theory is, it's unnerving to see it being used to advocate hostile action against another country.pic.twitter.com/dhrXQcL72R

      3. In some ways, threat inflation on Havana Syndrome is worse than WMD claims in run-up to Iraq war. After all, the non-existent weapons at least were things that we knew exist in some form in the world & CIA was pressured by Bush admin. Here it's conjectural weapon & from CIA

From a disability perspective, I distrust people who write off mysteries as "hysteria," but on the other hand taking guesswork about a cause as a causus belli is absurd.

As I explain in the podcast, functional symptoms and/or those driven by mental health are no less "real" than any others. The idea that discussing them is to "write off mysteries" is in itself problematic from disability perspective, bc it imposes hierarchy of "valid" suffering

I remain agnostic. I don't want to dismiss possibly real injuries of people doing hard jobs abroad & undermining efforts to hold accountable (whoever). Assuming microwaves are to blame, also risks undermining treatments for possibly psychological ailments.

Growing up during the Cold War I knew exactly who it was the moment the Embassy in Havana was targeted. Typical Soviet style actions. I could be proven wrong but I doubt it.
