I've taught at a regional state university (in Canada) and the young people are pretty au courant. Maybe a few years behind the big schools but not more than that. It's a profound generational shift.
What does it mean for the politics of young people to be branded “socially and culturally extreme”? It seems especially odd to poke at media that is “not conservative” in this regard as compared with the extremity of conservative media.
The issue is more (1) the ideological uniformity and (2) the relative lack of pushback from older and more established employees. Though I agree DeBoer is exaggerating.
I’m a professional media member who isn’t a self-described conservative. Does his definition apply to me?
