In the past these were just seen as settled, unassailable "facts" among the class of folks who worked in media. I wonder if making this explicit at the org level is a sign the typical filtering methods of schooling and class position are losing effectiveness?

It is certainly a sign that there is starting to be a large and powerful cohort who does not take these as facts and what used to just be tacitly accepted now has to be actively gatekept.
