It's all transactional. It's what have you done for ME lately. Never what Trump has done for the party.

It's in his interest for the GOP to do well so they can make him Speaker of the House, then simultaneously impeach Biden and Harris.
-
And convict them with which 67 votes in the Senate?

I disagree. If you have maga candidates smash, you’re gonna see people calling for Donnie

Great! In this case, his interest and ours align. I say let him rant.

Kinda depends. It's in his interest for GOP to do badly given messaging of "the Trump guys didn't show up". It's very much NOT in his interest if the story is "the anti-Trumpers didn't show up or voted Dem" since that incentivizes party leadership to break.
-
Then again, I'm pretty sure the reality is more "the money in the GOP is mainly neutral to slightly anti-Trump, but the boots on the ground are heavily pro-Trump" so the "maybe GOP voters break with Trump" idea is probably more of a fantasy

Statistically speaking, his life expectancy is shorter than the GOP…or maybe not

Trump just threatened to have Republican voters stay home in 2022 and 2024 unless the party is able to "solve" (by which he seems to mean overturn) the result of the last presidential election, which he lost.
