It’s because they’ve incorporated a polity that is against doing good things and hegemonized themselves so thoroughly that you can only do good things sparingly. everything else must be left to the market.

I still feel that pooular policies should be promoted by president and majority party in Congress in part to show that Republicans are against popular policies. But also the should promote them because they are popular Like, maybe AZians and WVians might like the policies, too

Y'know, when George Bush won re-election and wanted to privatize Social Security, even Republicans backed off of pushing for that once people pushed back. Democrats need to capture that kind of intensity by pushing, en masse, united for popular policies that benefit Americans.
