How does Glenn Greenwald respond to the news that senior Trump officials plotted to assassinate Julian Assange? "The Czar is a good man, he just has bad advisors." I'd ask him to ponder Brad DeLong's adage, "The Cossacks work for the Czar."https://twitter.com/ggreenwald/status/1442115339672772614 …

I think Greenwald really thinks that about Trump supporters, btw, even if I agree with you that that's a false assumption. Greenwald sometimes tries strategies based on false assumptions.

As I read the gist of Glenn's thread, he's focusing on U.S. Deep State institutional power and consistency across R and D administrations - and their growing effectiveness - in pushing both electeds and institutions to prosecute & punish both journalists and whistleblowers.

That's not what he's doing. He's portraying Trump as someone who fought the deep state on this. That's been his narrative for years, even though there's no evidence to back it and Trump was the one that appointed Pompeo

Some are, some aren't. But I have noticed that a part of the Trump support was anti-war & not overly fond of the Bush administration & Patriot Act. It cuts across political divides.

How narrow minded.. How many people has Assange killed? There is a distinction that needs to be made.
