I agree - "this guy stood up for civil rights his whole life, even when it was hard, and it makes no sense to ignore that because of this one thing he did as a college kid" was the right argument, even though the people who scrubbed March's name were never going to buy it.

Just like we shouldn't dismiss March's life for one early and stupid transgression, we shouldn't dismiss McWhorter's piece for one later but still stupid transgression
