Interesting column. I'd say that Canada's lack of populism is less about integrating immigrants than combination of Westminister system on top of strong Federalism & language divide.

That could well be. I’ve always wanted to find out more about the rise and fall of Wildrose in Alberta and prairie populism more generally, but never known where to look for good discussion.
