The difference is this is the long standing challenge the LPC deals with and strategizes around versus CPC who - in this contemporary status quo - have relied on this vote splitting and never had to deal with it themselves (since 2003, anyways).

It seems rather desperate. But I also am not convinced the Conservatives are bleeding that many votes to the PPC. These seem to be people who don’t generally vote, who are angry at all the traditional parties and are parking their vote in protest with the PCP.
