The third filmed adaptation of Dune is coming out next month and my entire timeline is obsessed, and meanwhile the first-ever filmed adaptation of Asimov's Foundation is coming out this month and I bet you had zero idea before this tweet and still don't care.

The two prequels Asimov wrote much later have a lot of politics and even action happening on Trantor, so I'd guess that's where they'll start, very curious where they'll go from there. Goyer has previously shown some interest in civilizational politics but mostly an action man...

I saw the first 3 eps. They got around the inherent difficulty of the source material by making up a bunch of new characters.

They're going to do what "I, Robot" did and very loosely adapt the source material since Asimov couldn't write characters to save his life

Im curious as to how they handle the fact that even if they're only covering the first novel in the series, thats spread over like 150 years. Always thought an adaptation with multiple timelines would be fascinating
