It revealed a lot of what we did that was awful. Just, hard to understand how those decisions were made. Felt so terrible for the woman interviewwd. Also was kind of a gut punch when she straight up said she doesn't believe men and women are equal.

Decisions weren't made so much as they just happened: because nobody had any idea what they were doing (everybody remotely in charge said about as much in their exit interviews, c.f. Whitlock) they'd just decide to do something and then did it as incompetently as you'd expect.
