lol impressive. I’m sure dc standbys will be hitting him hard on the lack of decorum and reverence. (also “BREAKING” lol … finally Benny can copy something without getting in trouble)https://twitter.com/bennyjohnson/status/1435394450474381317 …

It could be both. He never intended to actually *be* president; he only ran for grifting purposes, and he was as shocked as the rest of us when he won. If he "runs" again, it'll be for the same reason, to milk the process for as many dollars as possible.

I’m not sure. His ego is huge and he hates being seen as a loser. The first time it was expected he’d lose so just doing well was an ego boost. This time? Having been President and losing twice? I think it’s unlikely he’d risk that

Until someone proves he can’t do both, he’ll do both.

The minute he confirms that he’s not in the race, the grift machine starts to sputter. He’ll keep taking $25 gifts from his followers for as long as he can.

yeah stuff like this and a number of other things points pretty strongly away from the second term idea.

The faux run helps with the buckraking. Wouldn't be surprised if he waits to bail on the run long after it would be disastrous for the GOP just to make sure he squeezed every last drop outa the cash cow.

He keeps talking about/around FEC rules for declaration of candidacy getting in the way of fundraising. I'm unclear on this: do you have to file or is a statement in an interview sufficient "declaration?"
-
There's a bit in Nixonland about how Reagan held off on admitting running because he wanted to wait until he could avoid caps on fundraising.
