Normally don't recommend doom scrolling but this thread raises an extremely pertinent issue about how existing infrastructure is not ready of climate change era extreme weather.https://twitter.com/blkahn/status/1433248603032674312 …

We can beef up the infrastructure, but if we don’t actually do something about climate change, we will have to beef it up again … and again … It will be a losing battle.

In the The World Without US author Alan Weismann discusses how one of the first infrastructure that will go down is the Manhattan Subway, do to its being underwater and the many pumps etc. needing power and people to staff them.

A grim thing is that NYC spent God knows how much after Sandy to prepare for exactly this. And we'd be doing worse if we hadn't spent that money.

It’s not climate change. Double the inches happened in 1890 per science

I don’t see the US infrastructure ever being ready for climate change, so what’s the plan for depopulation?

Remember kids, this year features the least extreme weather for the next... 1000+ years. (No I don't think the world will ever actually reduce net emissions).
