Also, the "you're not an expert on Afghanistan" line would carry more weight if many genuine experts on Afghanistan, Middle East & international relations hadn't been sidelined & ignored during "global war on terror."https://twitter.com/MatthewSitman/status/1427230432614092801 …

I don’t quite get the “you’re not an expert on Afghanistan” line. If I was a historian who knew more about the place than anyone, that wouldn’t settle what to do now. We fetishize expertise and ignore the importance of *judgment*

Why would an expert on Afghanistan be on Twitter? This is a place for dilettantes and scammers

Experts ARE humans too and social media is entrenched in human lives and society. Or do you think "experts" are some alien creatures far away in a distant dimension? 😳🙄🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

What are you talking about Jeet? Their plan of flood the country with diversity and ruining natives homelands is going quite well.

Remember the Bush-era furore over Middle Eastern studies departments not being sufficiently pro-Israel?

Area and topic having a bit of a bad time right now bc we took a Johns Hopkins anthropologist who studied the region / a “Top 100 intellectual” in the world / co-founder of the Institute for State Effectiveness, made him president of Afghanistan…and he had to flee 48 hours ago

Or if these experts actually spoke one of the languages spoken in Afghanistan. Many don't. Many have no fluency in any of the languages of Central Asia. It is sad.

"you're not an expert on Afghanistan" is just the American belief that if the "almighty empire of America can't do something (in this case Afghanistan) then NOBODY ever would or could cause Americans are the best of all the humans in the world and far beyond"....🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🙄🙄🙄🙄

They sometimes act like Pharoahs of the ancient. They certainly don't need any actual "genuine experts on Afghanistan, Middle East & international relations". Are you kidding? Modern Gods never do. In a way it's ironic cause the Taliban always said "Allah" would defeat them.
