never have i felt this kind of inexplicable, gut wrenching deep abyss of sadness for someone whom i have never met; hopeless, weepy and in perpetual shock. baffled grief is a better way to describe this.

I remember reading one of his books: in the intro, he said he used to be so depressed that he'd vowed he would drive his car off a cliff depending what song came on the radio. His suicide wasn't a surprise to those who followed him closely. :(
