Almost certainly. Less inequality leads to higher social trust and various other measures of better society, including better health and health care for even for the richest people.

yep -- I also health insurence (or lack of same) is a big issue that overlaps with this but is distinct. Just having universal insurance means more people go to doctor regularly, trust doctors, etc.

I know a lot of vaccine hesitant people in Manitoba who are middle and upper middle class, including people with diplomas or degrees in science fields. It’s a reminder that decision-making can be very difficult for many.

No, I don't have Fox News talking heads on my TV channels, and the PM didn't politicise the pandemic. Almost everyone got the message as soon as the data was clear. Facebook radicalises the anti-vaxxers in Canada.

I honestly think it's a matter of patriotism. IMHO, Canadians are proud to be Canadian, and to do their part in the effort to make their country safer. (The reason Canadians have less gun violence?) Too many Americans are "Republican" or "Conservative" first, and American second.

I think we just trust government more as a people. Things like healthcare, CERB, etc. Interestingly the poorest region of the country has weathered the storm the best, with the NS government not shy to throw it’s weight around to protect citizens, and majority are on board.

@VoiceOfFranky I agree with@ramsincanon that it’s more likely to do with the fucked up US “healthcare” systemhttps://twitter.com/ramsincanon/status/1421868041281880074 …Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I credit Canada's decision to give everyone the first dose before starting on seconds. RW hate whatever govt is doing. When there were no/few vaccines, everyone wanted them, and got their first dose. When vaccines became widely available, their outrage shifted to being antivax.
