From a quick scroll, it looks like no one has mentioned Mickey Rooney in Breakfast at Tiffany's, but perhaps because its badness is in league of its own.https://twitter.com/Ted_Scheinman/status/1420105203030773764 …

Cleansing the TL with a harmless + low-stakes survey: what's the absolute worst accent in a performance by a major actor in a major film? I'm thinking Albert Finney as Poirot in the 1974 'Murder on the Orient Express.'

Yes. Yes it is. It’s one of those awful things that makes the show unwatchable.

There is an argument that he is doing the accent he intended (racist cod-Japanese) *perfectly*

People otherwise love Breakfast at Tiffany's. Genghis Khan is rightfully considered one of the worst movies of all time. Wayne's yellowface is only one part of the problem.

I wonder if it's because he's a supporting player rather than the film's lead. Or maybe because his performance goes beyond "bad accent" into full-on racism.

Yeah, the accent is bad but there's so much else that is also bad. As for being minor, true, but he's in it enough to hurt what is otherwise a nice movie.

to be fair he did say harmless. I think people consider something like Reeves' accent in Dracula funny-bad, Rooney was jut offensive-bad
