first person to mind for me is Jerry Seinfeld

He had one highly successful show that lasted nine seasons, granted, but Alan Alda, Carroll O'Connor and Carol Burnett lasted longer, and Mary Tyler Moore, and Bob Newhart had multiple shows that combined for more seasons. Heck, BOTH Kelsey Grammer's shows went for 11 seasons.
