Said this in other tweet too but calling it fascism or not of course isn’t about the risk assessment —one can chew gum and walk at same time! If anything there’s a danger of not assessing the risk of an unfamiliar and frightening form of politics by calling it something else

That is notionally true, but it’s not necessarily the case. One analyst might eschew the word fascism yet think the danger is great; another might also not use the word, yet think the danger is exaggerated, eg, basically 21st century rotten boroughs.
