Much of disco was not good, I mean have you ever really listened to KC and the Sunshine Band? - Gen X
-
You need to actually make an effort to find it, but there are thousands of great disco songs out there.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmTj8zkDBbM …

You weren't there man..YOU WEREN'T THERE!!!! Seriously, I was a wee lad those days and the issue was that on the radio all that was heard was disco. Radio stations and record companies decided that was what was to be the next big thing and no alternative was offered.

Yup. If it wasn’t for how distasteful and ubiquitous it became, I would have never struck out on my own to discover Talking Heads, REM, The Clash, U2, X, The Blasters, Los Lobos, etc… The youngins have no idea how so much of radio had surrendered to disco by 1980.pic.twitter.com/Ro2Trz7xFm

I love a lot of disco music, but so many people commenting on it (including myself) aren't old enough or weren't even born yet to remember if it was as omnipresent as it seems to have been. Familiarity breeds contempt and all that.
-
I am old enough for nu-metal and I didn't even think much about it until it began showing up everywhere and got old.

I always took her personally, because that was my coming of age music and it is really good. Time has been good with good disco music. Try not dancing with Donna Summer’s music.
