Seems to me there needs to be a law that a movie needs to put a note in the credits that certain scenes of an actor's appearance or voice were not the actor, but were digitally created. Even if the actor is departed, and even if it's his own words, it's still deceptive.

2/ Of course, Hollywood would probably get around that by just putting AI generated voices into most or all movies, so that disclaimer would be ignored--especially as deep fakes become cheaper to generate. But a requirement that any such items be listed on a website might help.

Yup, will not be watching this one. Probably won’t watch anything by that “documentary” maker.
-
It could still be fixed with a remix. Let's guess that that's exactly what will happen as the filmmaker recognizes to what extent he miscalculated public tolerance for this sort of malarkey.

Ah but the filmmakers can just create an AI version of you who says positive things about the movie.
