Two things can be true at the same time. There can be a growing trend in the left to push questionable versions of DEI and anti-racism, and the Right can be using that as an excuse to lump all sorts of reasonable and appropriate discussions of racism into a CRT boogyman.

Sure, but the questionable version of DEI is not "CRT" and in responding to the right we don't need to adopt their terminology or framing. FDB, idiotically to my mind, wants to engage bad faith actors and liars as if they were honest interlocutors.
