Teacher fired for teaching a poem & a Ta-Nehisi Coates essay. Please keep telling me that the anti-CRT movement isn't a moral panic targeting a wide range of Black thought.https://www.wjhl.com/news/local/sullivan-county-teacher-facing-termination-at-school-board-meeting-tuesday-supporters-to-gather/ …

I don't want my kids, age 0-8, learning CRT or "anti-racism" in schools that my tax dollars pay for. What would you suggest my recourse is as a parent? Suck it up?
-
If we had school choice, the recourse would be simple: take my money to a different school. But I assume that's not on the table.

Yeah, it 'wrong' for the last generation to criticize communism. What idiocy.

*was 'wrong'*

I think you misrepresent Deboer's point. You don't have to defend the strawman in the form of CRT to make a case against anti-CRT. Why make the effort to defend something they aren't actually attacking? Falling into the trap of their poor framing is neither noble nor effective.

Two things can be true at the same time. There can be a growing trend in the left to push questionable versions of DEI and anti-racism, and the Right can be using that as an excuse to lump all sorts of reasonable and appropriate discussions of racism into a CRT boogyman.
-
Sure, but the questionable version of DEI is not "CRT" and in responding to the right we don't need to adopt their terminology or framing. FDB, idiotically to my mind, wants to engage bad faith actors and liars as if they were honest interlocutors.
