Bill Cosby got away with it. He got away with potentially sexually assaulting on the order of 60 women. If that doesn't cause SOMEBODY to CHANGE SOME GODDAMN LAWS I cannot think of what will.

It’s not the law Elie That was a corrupt decision by a biased tribunal led by a judge w an easily ascertained personal interest in screwing prosecutors From his past. What kills me is how little justice matters when women are involved.

I mean the opinion rejected the entire system of law for a risible and totally unsupported assertion of "due process" that resembles nothing so much as the plucked from his ass arguments of Lochner and Dred Scott. The only way to stop judges like David Wecht is elections

read the opinion; it's hilarious? There is an established process for plea bargaining and immunity in PA. Castor followed NONE of it. There is established process (by same court in IA Construction) for when you overturn the trier of fact. Followed NONE This stinks to high heaven.

3/ Here's an explanation for Cosby's behavior in 2005: Just like Trump, he never expected to be held to account. He relied on the implied promise of the society that rich and powerful men can do anything. And David Wecht enforced it.

4/ Promissory estoppel in Pennsylvania: When you rely on the social promise that "when you're a celebrity they let you do it" and just blithely admit what you do and the PA Supreme Court calls it promissory estoppel

Thanks. This is very illuminating. You should write a column on this.

thank you for asking. Representing organized labor in the federal courts, I got a fine nose for when this was happening. Just like poor Dred Scott, this judge was going to find deep constitutional principle for the oppression of women. YLS and he still couldn't do it well.

me again, please don't say there was an agreement. That is the assertion of a judge who wrote an opinion in order to free Bill Cosby. WHETHER THERE WAS AN AGREEMENT is the very fact in dispute. The lower court found there was not. He's illegitimately reversing the lower court.

2/ whether there was a promise. No one in history ever found a nonprosecution promise on these facts. @nancyerikasmith says she's never seen a case like this. There were no PA precedents. There's no advocate like a judge that has ruled against you. DON'T TAKE YOUR FACTS FROM HIM
